Royal Navy The Royal Navy has employed Lieutenant Peter Reed as an engineering officer since 2000 and has provided outstanding support to him in his rowing career. In 1999, Pete Reed took his Fleet Board exams to attend the Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC) in Dartmouth for officer training. In 2000, as a Sub-Lieutenant engineering officer he carried out tours of duty in Saudi Arabia, the Caribbean and British waters. It was on board HMS EXETER that Pete first used a rowing machine. Between 2000 and 2005, the Royal Navy supported Pete in his engineering degree and MSc at university and, upon being selected into the GB lead men’s rowing boat, gave Pete their support to allow him to continue to row and represent his country. http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/index.php
