I am just seven hours away from boarding the long flight from the UK to New Zealand. The bags are packed, all the preparation that we can do here, both on and off the water, is done. There is a real sense of excitement amongst the GB Rowing Team that we’re about to go away together and do something special – hopefully with Hodgey and me leading the way.
All I’ll say about the preparations over the last two weeks are that they have gone very well. We’re so fit after this enormous season and all the best training and racing is still to come. It’s an exciting time to be an international rower.
